Strawberry Fields Forever

Oh what fun! Today we went strawberry picking at Hodgson's Farm. It was a bit of a bummer because Spike couldn't come (darn job getting in the way) Though it was a bit of a drive, it was well worth it. There were plenty of berries for everyone and rather stroller friendly. Aunt Tara, Jake, Corinna and I had a great time. Aidan, not so sure. He did not care for smushed strawberries and therefore had troubles with the picking. But we took home a ton of yumminess and can't wait to get baking and diving into our loot. I'll take strawberry picking over apple picking any day of the week! Quick, easy, cheap! Though we could have dealt without the crazy humidity. H-O-T!

Here Come the Graduates

What a week, last tuesday Aidan 'moved up' from the 3 year old program at preschool to the 4 year old program. Mr. Hot Shot will be going to preschool 3 full days next year. Today, Jake graduated kindergarten. Class of 2021. Yes, it's a bit of a 'hallmark holiday' but the ceremony was very cute. Jake even got picked out of all the kids to walk across the stage (with one other kid) and present flowers to a teacher. He was so serious during the ceremony, clearly taking it all in. But, he's so excited to be a first grader now--with a loose tooth--turning 6 in a few days. Holy crap--grab the tissues! We had been home from the kindergarten ceremony about 45 minutes when the first official "mom, I'm bored" occurred. How long is summer vacation?

Sunday was father's day and we celebrated with a little bbq at the house here. Water balloon fight included.

Corinna is 5 months old today!

Welcome sun! For the first time in ages, we are having a sunny day. It still managed to rain a bit this morning, but with any luck we'll be done with rain for a little while. Jake had his very first school field trip to the zoo this morning. Aidan had his last full day of preschool and Corinna turned 5 months old today!

Corinna's fifth month was pretty exciting. She went on her first long car ride...a trip to Syracuse to meet her babci, grandparents, and cousins. Little Miss McGrabby tries to grab whatever she can reach...our drinks and food are her favorites. She rolled over, too! And now that she rolls over, she LOVES grabbing her feet. They have become a built-in toy! She is enjoying baby rice cereal more than oatmeal, but finally more is staying in her mouth than falling out. She likes holding the spoon and trying to feed herself, she gets pretty angry if she can't hold the spoon. Hopefully not a sign of things to come! She is still sleeping wonderfully (keep those fingers crossed). She really likes to be outside, so trips to the park with her brothers are pretty cool. And she LOVES her brothers. A few times recently she's been fussy and we couldn't figure out what was going on, but we put her closer to her brothers and the smiles returned. She's doing more and more each day, it's so cool to watch. I know she'll be sitting soon. She can balance for a few more seconds here and there. That must be a great feeling--to sit up on your own--finally. I do keep putting ridiculous little hair accessories in her micro-thin hair. But I can't resist. The cuteness....She's also an official thumb sucker now and puts herself to sleep hugging her bunny "Bun-Bun" and sucking her thumb. As opposed to her brothers who screamed incessantly to sleep, this is a brilliant twist.

Corinna Rolls Over

Last month Corinna rolled over for the first time. Took a stab at an all-digital scrapbook layout. What fun!

Welcome Snaily

This weekend brought the official start of the "can I go in the pool, mom?" season. The water was frigid, but spike couldn't wait any longer. So, he grabbed the boys and jumped in. They lasted about 5 minutes before purple lips and shivers took over. Yet, they couldn't wait to get back in. Clearly I question if they are truly related to me as I could barely watch.

It was a rainy day like any other, but a few fridays ago, Jake happened on a cute little snail in the driveway on the way to the bus. He made Spike PROMISE to save him until he got home from school. He did and we've all fallen a little in love with cute little snaily. BTW--Snails poop more than any other animal in the world I think. It's amazing what comes out of this tiny guy. Snaily is a sweetie and really likes cucumbers and hiding under the leaf in his terrarium.
